The Crème de la Kids singing competition will consist of three (3) Qualifying Rounds and one (1) Semi-Final Round at participating venues throughout Southern California. Check individual participating venues for specific days and times. In order to be eligible for that day’s competition you must me signed up by the end of the sign up period for that round. The order of performance for all rounds will be decided by random drawing.

Six (6) contestants will be selected from each qualifying round to compete in the Semi-Finals for that venue. At the Semi-Finals five (5) contestants will be selected to compete in the Finals at KaraokeFest.

There will be a nominal entry fee of $5.00 for each attempt to qualify.

You must be 17 years of age or younger as of September 13th, 2008 to compete in this event. Proof of age is required and must be available upon request. All contestants must be accompanied by an adult (18 years or older) at all contest venues and events.

You may compete as many times as you wish but once you have qualified at a particular venue you may not compete at that venue again until the Semi-Finals. You may qualify at more than one (1) venue (or all of the participating venues) if you wish. You may compete in each venue’s Semi-Finals until you are selected as a finalist. Once you are selected as a finalist at any venue, you may not compete again until the Finals. Anyone attempting to do so will be disqualified.

Any contestant who has taken first place for two consecutive years will not be eligible to compete again for a period of one year.

Each contestant will sing one (1) song. Duets may not compete. You may not change your song after the sign-ups are closed.

You may bring your own CDGs or CDs; no other formats are acceptable.

The children of KJs hosting this event may not compete at any venue.

You must be present until the end of the competition to be eligible for selection. If you leave before the competition has ended, you will be disqualified for that round, however, you may still compete at a future round.

Winners of all Qualifying and Semi-Final rounds will not be announced at that round but will be notified within 3 days by a contest coordinator, either by phone or email.

Proper behavior is expected at all times from the contestants and the adults accompanying them. Improper behavior will result in disqualification. Improper behavior includes intoxication poor sportsmanship, bad manners, lack of decorum, etc. Disqualification decisions will be made by Karaoke Scene staff and are final.
